In 2022, the average cereals; grain sorghum, seed import price amounted to $3,234 per ton, almost unchanged from the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average import price increased by 17% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $4,322 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($7,490 per ton), while the price for the United States ($1,963 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+9.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The export price peaked at $4,577 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($5,356 per ton), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($523 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Slovakia (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
