In September 2023, the average import price for cereals; maize (corn), other than seeds amounted to $330 per ton, flattening at the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 2.7% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $369 per ton. From March 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Myanmar ($373 per ton) and the United States ($353 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($299 per ton) and Brazil ($328 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Myanmar (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

The average export price for cereals; maize (corn), other than seeds stood at $337 per ton in 2022, falling by -8.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a mild curtailment.
