The average import price for cereals; maize (corn), other than seeds stood at $276 per ton in August 2023, picking up by 2.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 an increase of 8.3% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $446 per ton. From April 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was the UK ($354 per ton), while the average price for exports to France stood at $305 per ton.

From October 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+0.3%).
