The average cereals; maize (corn), seed export price stood at $1,291 per ton in July 2023, waning by -25.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2022 when the average export price increased by 136% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $5,508 per ton in February 2023; however, from March 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($7,213 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($298 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+27.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, import price indicated a temperate expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.9% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, cereals; maize (corn), seed import price increased by +4.9% against June 2023 indices.
