In 2022, the average cereals; maize (corn), seed import price amounted to $6,340 per ton, rising by 7.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 an increase of 41%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $8,888 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries.
