Price for Cereals; Millet, Other than Seed in Singapore (CIF) - 2022

The average import price for cereals; millet, other than seeds stood at $1,280 per ton in 2022, picking up by 4% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a perceptible increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average import price increased by 101% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $2,134 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($1,341 per ton), while the price for the United States ($744 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cambodia ($5,411 per ton), while the average price for exports to Indonesia amounted to $2,220 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+59.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, purchases abroad of cereals; millet, other than seeds decreased by -11% to 184 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend.
