Price for Cereals; Millet, Other than Seed in Ukraine (FOB) - 2023
The average export price for cereals; millet, other than seeds stood at $257 per ton in November 2023, with a decrease of -10.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $344 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($479 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($220 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Thailand (+3.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for cereals; millet, other than seeds amounted to $277 per ton, which is down by -20.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 95%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $438 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Poland.
From 2014 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Kazakhstan amounted to +4.4% per year.
Exports of Cereals; Millet, Other than Seed in Ukraine
After three years of growth, overseas shipments of cereals; millet, other than seeds decreased by -60.1% to 68K tons in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a resilient increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 125%.
In value terms, cereals; millet, other than seed exports dropped sharply to $21M in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 91%.
