The average export price for cereals; oats, other than seeds stood at $296 per ton in August 2023, picking up by 4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a mild curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 when the average export price increased by 7.9% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $365 per ton. From January 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for North Macedonia.
From November 2022 to August 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Spain amounted to 0.0% per month.

In 2022, the average import price for cereals; oats, other than seeds amounted to $245 per ton, picking up by 13% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a mild curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 29% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $287 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($1,459 per ton), while the price for Ukraine ($223 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+21.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
