In January 2024, the average import price for cermets; articles thereof, including waste and scrap amounted to $128K per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Over the last ten months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $141K per ton in November 2023; however, from December 2023 to January 2024, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Slovenia ($307K per ton), while the price for Italy ($51,288 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Slovenia (+17.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for cermets; articles thereof, including waste and scrap amounted to $26,838 per ton, picking up by 24% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 975%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $106,286 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bosnia and Herzegovina ($96,591 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($11,545 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+62.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +56.4% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 61% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $1.8M, and then reduced in the following year.
