The average import price for cheese, other than blue-veined, grated, powdered or processed stood at $5,061 per ton in 2022, rising by 5.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a slight descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 9.9%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $6,036 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,951 per ton), while the price for Morocco ($781 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+5.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for cheese, other than blue-veined, grated, powdered or processed amounted to $3,423 per ton, standing approx. at the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a mild decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 33%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,850 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Central African Republic.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 44%.
