The average import price for cheese, other than blue-veined, grated, powdered or processed stood at $5,279 per ton in November 2023, shrinking by -3.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a slight descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2023 when the average import price increased by 9.3% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $6,527 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to November 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+0.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 an increase of 13% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,354 per ton. From January 2023 to November 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Germany ($7,211 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($3,598 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
