In May 2023, the average chocolate bar with filling import price amounted to $3,704 per ton, which is down by -3.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 an increase of 11% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $4,185 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to May 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belarus ($4,930 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,386 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average chocolate bar with filling export price stood at $3,085 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -7.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a noticeable expansion from 2017 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the last five-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, chocolate bar with filling export price increased by +55.7% against 2018 indices.
