In 2022, the average export price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses amounted to $8.2 per thousand units, increasing by 15% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 67%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $19 per thousand units. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bolivia ($12 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to Argentina ($5 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Colombia (-2.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average import price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses amounted to $22 per thousand units, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses increased by +47.8% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average import price increased by 50%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $23 per thousand units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Cuba ($82 per thousand units), while the price for Turkey ($14 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+16.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the fourth year in a row, Brazil recorded growth in shipments abroad of cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses, which increased by 50% to 7.5B units in 2022. Overall, exports posted a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 133%. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, exports of cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses soared to $61M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 99%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
