The average import price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses stood at less than $0.1 per unit in 2022, rising by 8.6% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 41% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $0.1 per unit. From 2017 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Cuba ($0.1 per unit), while the price for Poland (less than $0.1 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Myanmar (+15.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average export price increased by 25%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $22 per thousand units, and then shrank notably in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($28 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to Belize ($4.7 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mexico (+16.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
