The average import price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses stood at $22 per thousand units in 2022, growing by 6.2% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 40%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $26 per thousand units. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Ukraine ($23 per thousand units) and Greece ($23 per thousand units), while the price for the United Arab Emirates ($21 per thousand units) and Turkey ($22 per thousand units) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ukraine (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price saw a buoyant increase. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Rwanda ($109 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($13 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kuwait (+12.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
