In March 2024, the average import price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses amounted to $2.5 per unit, rising by 2,412% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a significant expansion. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Cuba ($6.8 per unit), while the price for Turkey ($151 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Cuba (+90.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the export price recorded strong growth. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Slovakia ($99 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($11 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+22.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
