The average export price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses stood at $9.1 per thousand units in 2022, waning by -34.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a measured increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 58% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $14 per thousand units in 2021, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($23 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to Qatar ($7.3 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Mauritius (+27.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses stood at $21 per thousand units in 2022, shrinking by -4.9% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 51% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $22 per thousand units in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($54 per thousand units), while the price for Pakistan ($6.1 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Armenia (+15.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Cigars, Cheroots, Cigarillos and Cigarettes; of Tobacco or of Tobacco Substitutes in Jordan
In 2022, overseas shipments of cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses increased by 136% to 251M units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, saw a dramatic decrease. The exports peaked at 953M units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, exports of cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses soared to $2.3M in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a significant contraction. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the maximum at $11M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
