The average export price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses stood at $18 per thousand units in 2022, with an increase of 10% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 13%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tajikistan ($23 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan ($4.8 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kyrgyzstan (+5.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average import price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses stood at $13 per thousand units in 2022, picking up by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $14 per thousand units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($500 per thousand units), while the price for Russia ($12 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+42.0%).

In 2022, overseas shipments of cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses were finally on the rise to reach 4.9B units for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, saw a perceptible downturn. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a slight increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +68.0% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
