In 2022, the average import price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses amounted to $14 per thousand units, dropping by -3.1% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses decreased by -13.9% against 2018 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 28%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $16 per thousand units. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($16 per thousand units), while the price for China ($7.6 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Vietnam (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average export price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses amounted to $6.9 per thousand units, dropping by -11% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 301% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $14 per thousand units. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Cambodia ($12 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($0.2 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
