In 2022, the average export price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses amounted to $15 per thousand units, shrinking by -12% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 20% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $23 per thousand units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($21 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to Austria ($8.7 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average import price increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $21 per thousand units. From 2021 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
