In 2022, the average export price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses amounted to $8.1 per thousand units, waning by -17.3% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 20% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $9.9 per thousand units in 2021, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Maldives ($16 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($5.4 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+9.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, the import price, however, showed a perceptible descent. The import price peaked at $20 per thousand units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($27 per thousand units), while the price for Bulgaria ($4 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+16.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
