The average import price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses stood at $18 per thousand units in 2022, surging by 27% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 51% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $62 per thousand units. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($148 per thousand units), while the price for Hungary ($11 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+2.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($1,044 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($18 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
