The average export price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses stood at $16 per thousand units in 2022, increasing by 2.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of 68%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $18 per thousand units. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Oman ($23 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to Nigeria ($2.3 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Libya (+16.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 5.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $16 per thousand units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($31 per thousand units), while the price for Jordan ($6.1 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+6.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
