Price for Cigars, Cheroots, Cigarillos and Cigarettes; of Tobacco or of Tobacco Substitutes in Ukraine (FOB) - 2022
The average export price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses stood at $13 per thousand units in 2022, picking up by 10% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a slight slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 14% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $15 per thousand units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Azerbaijan ($20 per thousand units), while the average price for exports to Qatar ($9.2 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kuwait (+23.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average import price for cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses amounted to $16 per thousand units, waning by -41.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a perceptible contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 71% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $33 per thousand units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Lithuania ($55 per thousand units), while the price for Mexico ($9.5 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+8.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Exports of Cigars, Cheroots, Cigarillos and Cigarettes; of Tobacco or of Tobacco Substitutes in Ukraine
Exports of cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses from Ukraine fell remarkably to 9B units in 2022, with a decrease of -68.5% compared with the previous year. In general, exports showed a dramatic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 4.2%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 29B units, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, exports of cigars, cheroots, cigarillos and cigarettes; of tobacco or of tobacco substituteses shrank notably to $116M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a dramatic curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 2.9%. The exports peaked at $335M in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
