The average export price for cocoa beans; whole or broken, raw or roasteds stood at $2,358 per ton in December 2021, reducing by -5.4% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2021 to December 2021, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2021 an increase of 12% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $2,493 per ton in November 2021, and then shrank in the following month.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major overseas markets. In December 2021, the countries with the highest prices were the Netherlands ($2,672 per ton) and Indonesia ($2,356 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,892 per ton) and Malaysia ($2,192 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Malaysia (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
