In September 2023, the average cocoa; paste, not defatted import price amounted to $4,523 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 44% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $6,005 per ton. From July 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Estonia.
From December 2022 to September 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Lithuania amounted to +0.6% per month.

The average cocoa; paste, not defatted export price stood at $5,343 per ton in 2022, increasing by 34% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.5%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($5,934 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($3,879 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uzbekistan (+6.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
