The average import price for cocoa; paste; whether or not defatteds stood at $5,211 per ton in November 2023, remaining stable against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in October 2023 an increase of 21% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $5,275 per ton, and then declined in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($7,940 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($4,313 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ghana (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 23% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in November 2023.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Poland ($5,398 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($1,612 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bulgaria (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
