The export price peaked at $10,273 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($25,118 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria stood at $7,427 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (-3.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2022, purchases abroad of coconut, abaca, ramie and other vegetable textile fibres decreased by -14.1% to 270 tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend.
