The average export price for compounded rubber, unvulcanised, in primary forms or in plates, sheets or strips stood at $2,936 per ton in December 2023, growing by 6.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a mild shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 8.1% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,513 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to December 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In December 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Belarus ($4,002 per ton) and India ($2,825 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($2,679 per ton) and Peru ($2,690 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belarus (-0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
