In January 2024, the average import price for compounded rubber, unvulcanised, in primary forms or in plates, sheets or strips amounted to $2,558 per ton, which is down by -6.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2023 an increase of 7.8% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $2,727 per ton in December 2023, and then fell in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was China ($2,542 per ton), while the price for Thailand totaled $1,438 per ton.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+0.3%).

In January 2024, the average export price for compounded rubber, unvulcanised, in primary forms or in plates, sheets or strips amounted to $1,703 per ton, shrinking by -13.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 an increase of 15% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,222 per ton. From October 2023 to January 2024, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was China ($5,261 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($1,484 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+0.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
