In January 2024, the average import price for compounded rubber, unvulcanised, in primary forms or in plates, sheets or strips amounted to $1,942 per ton, declining by -3.4% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 an increase of 13% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,186 per ton. From March 2023 to January 2024, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was Spain ($4,439 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($764 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+6.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average export price for compounded rubber, unvulcanised, in primary forms or in plates, sheets or strips stood at $2,365 per ton in January 2024, leveling off at the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a slight downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in August 2023 when the average export price increased by 6.3% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $2,705 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to January 2024, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($2,911 per ton), while the average price for exports to Serbia ($1,415 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Poland (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Overall, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +12.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +53.8% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
