In April 2024, the average export price for containers for compressed or liquefied gas, of iron or steel amounted to $24.4 per unit, approximately equating the previous month. Overall, the export price saw a mild downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in September 2023 an increase of 13% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $29.2 per unit in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to April 2024, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In April 2024, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($41.5 per unit), while the average price for exports to the Philippines ($14.2 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
