In December 2023, the average export price for copper; bars, rods and profiles, of copper-zinc base alloys (brass)s amounted to $5,371 per ton, increasing by 2.4% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, saw a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 when the average export price increased by 9.2% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $7,811 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to December 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Singapore ($15,308 per ton), while the average price for exports to Australia ($644 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+4.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
