In March 2024, the average export price for copper; copper-zinc base alloys (brass) unwroughts amounted to $6,704 per ton, surging by 9.7% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in January 2024 when the average export price increased by 20% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $7,668 per ton in June 2023; however, from July 2023 to March 2024, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In March 2024, the highest price was recorded for prices to France ($7,442 per ton) and Italy ($7,186 per ton), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($5,823 per ton) and Spain ($6,387 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From March 2023 to March 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+0.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $8,361 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to March 2024, import prices remained at a lower figure.
