Price for Copper Plates, Sheets and Strip in Belarus (CIF) - 2022

In March 2022, the average import price for copper plates, sheets and strips amounted to $8,490 per ton, with a decrease of -15.7% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2021 when the average import price increased by 15% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $10,999 per ton in December 2021; however, from January 2022 to March 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2022, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($11,194 per ton), while the price for Russia ($8,091 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From March 2021 to March 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average export price for copper plates, sheets and strips amounted to $5,508 per ton, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 45% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $9,903 per ton. From 2016 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Russia.
