Price for Copper Plates, Sheets and Strip in Spain (CIF) - 2023
The average import price for copper plates, sheets and strips stood at $8,174 per ton in July 2023, dropping by -3.7% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 an increase of 17% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $9,793 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($10,906 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($3,714 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In July 2023, the average export price for copper plates, sheets and strips amounted to $10,043 per ton, increasing by 12% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $10,513 per ton in September 2022; however, from October 2022 to July 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Portugal ($13,015 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($6,677 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+8.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Copper Plates, Sheets and Strip in Spain
In 2022, approx. 16K tons of copper plates, sheets and strips were imported into Spain; reducing by -17% against 2021. Overall, imports saw a deep reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 4.9% against the previous year.

Over the period under review, exports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
