In December 2021, the average copper; powders and flakes export price amounted to $3,310 per ton, reducing by -3.2% against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2021 an increase of 19% month-to-month. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In December 2021, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($8,424 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($1,177 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
