In January 2024, the average export price for copper; refined and copper alloys, unwroughts amounted to $8,445 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous month. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 an increase of 7.2% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $8,981 per ton. From May 2023 to January 2024, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In January 2024, the countries with the highest prices were China ($8,481 per ton) and Bulgaria ($8,436 per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($8,358 per ton) and Italy ($8,407 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+0.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In January 2024, the average import price for copper; refined and copper alloys, unwroughts amounted to $9,454 per ton, rising by 8.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 an increase of 10% m-o-m. The import price peaked in January 2024.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($13,240 per ton), while the price for Bulgaria ($8,493 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
