The average import price for copper; refined and copper alloys, unwroughts stood at $8,484 per ton in January 2024, remaining stable against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 3.6% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $9,310 per ton. From April 2023 to January 2024, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the highest price was recorded for prices from Poland ($8,729 per ton) and Bulgaria ($8,548 per ton), while the price for Iran ($8,102 per ton) and Uzbekistan ($8,356 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From January 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (-0.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

Overall, export price indicated mild growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for copper; refined and copper alloys, unwroughts increased by +38.9% against 2020 indices.
