The average copper; refined, unwrought, billets import price stood at $9,335 per ton in September 2023, picking up by 1.7% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a perceptible increase from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, copper; refined, unwrought, billets import price increased by +1.7% against August 2023 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 an increase of 63% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $9,351 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($9,400 per ton), while the price for Austria stood at $9,228 per ton.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $9,162 per ton in 2021, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Spain.
