In September 2023, the average copper; refined, unwrought, billets import price amounted to $9,257 per ton, with an increase of 4.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in November 2022 an increase of 34% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $10,919 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Finland ($12,371 per ton), while the price for Germany ($9,147 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Finland (+40.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2022, the average copper; refined, unwrought, billets export price amounted to $9,484 per ton, with a decrease of -4.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, posted a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 194% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $24,865 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($107,679 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($8,825 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+303.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, supplies from abroad of copper; refined, unwrought, billetses increased by 20% to 3.4K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a abrupt downturn.
