In April 2024, the average export price for copper; refined, unwrought, cathodes and sections of cathodeses amounted to $8,332 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2024 when the average export price increased by 2.2% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $8,711 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to April 2024, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In April 2024, the highest price was recorded for prices to Malaysia ($8,722 per ton) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($8,685 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($6,393 per ton) and Bangladesh ($7,981 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From April 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
