In April 2024, the average export price for copper; refined, unwrought, cathodes and sections of cathodeses amounted to $9,128 per ton, surging by 4.9% against the previous month. Over the last six-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.3%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In April 2024, the countries with the highest prices were Thailand ($9,129 per ton) and Spain ($9,129 per ton), while the average price for exports to Brazil ($9,126 per ton) and France ($9,128 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From October 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
