In 2022, the average export price for copper; refined, unwrought, cathodes and sections of cathodeses amounted to $8,635 per ton, rising by 2.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 48% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Bangladesh ($9,552 per ton) and Pakistan ($9,225 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($6,380 per ton) and the Philippines ($7,373 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
