The average import price for copper; refined, unwrought, cathodes and sections of cathodeses stood at $8,950 per ton in April 2024, growing by 3.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2024, the countries with the highest prices were Democratic Republic of the Congo ($9,223 per ton) and Chile ($9,106 per ton), while the price for Peru ($8,548 per ton) and Canada ($8,833 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From May 2023 to April 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Chile (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
