In January 2024, the average import price for copper; rivets, cotters, cotter-pins and similar articles, not threaded amounted to $45,896 per ton, growing by 32% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a perceptible decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2023 when the average import price increased by 42% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $97,817 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to January 2024, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the country with the highest price was Germany ($134K per ton), while the price for China ($5,578 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From February 2023 to January 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average export price for copper; rivets, cotters, cotter-pins and similar articles, not threaded amounted to $37,761 per ton, with an increase of 19% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated tangible growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for copper; rivets, cotters, cotter-pins and similar articles, not threaded decreased by -30.7% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 45%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $54,473 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($81,192 per ton), while the average price for exports to Argentina ($22,955 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+38.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Overall, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +13.3% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +61.1% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 56%. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in years to come.
