In December 2023, the average export price for copper; strip, of a thickness exceeding 0.15mm, of refined copper, in coilses amounted to $10,974 per ton, rising by 2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 6.6% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $11,294 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to December 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In December 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Serbia ($11,697 per ton) and the UK ($11,173 per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($10,274 per ton) and Turkey ($11,116 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
