In December 2023, the average export price for copper; strip, of a thickness exceeding 0.15mm, of refined copper, in coilses amounted to $11,442 per ton, picking up by 1.6% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2022 to December 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 8.4% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $11,537 per ton. From May 2023 to December 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In December 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to China ($14,965 per ton) and India ($14,094 per ton), while the average price for exports to Singapore ($10,085 per ton) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($10,801 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+2.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
