In November 2023, the average import price for copper; strip, of a thickness exceeding 0.15mm, of refined copper, in coilses amounted to $10,754 per ton, falling by -3.2% against the previous month. Over the period from November 2022 to November 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 19% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $12,125 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to November 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In November 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Germany ($11,868 per ton) and Belgium ($11,722 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($9,124 per ton) and China ($10,225 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 11% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $10,796 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to November 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Canada ($31,334 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($7,894 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From November 2022 to November 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Nepal (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
