The average export price for copper; strip, of a thickness exceeding 0.15mm, of refined copper, in coilses stood at $10,251 per ton in December 2022, growing by 2% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, showed a mild shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 an increase of 2.5% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $12,394 per ton in May 2022; however, from June 2022 to December 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In December 2022, the highest price was recorded for prices to Hungary ($11,043 per ton) and Slovenia ($10,884 per ton), while the average price for exports to Vietnam ($9,023 per ton) and India ($9,333 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2021 to December 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
